Dying Babe Ruth Addresses Fans Speech

At “Bath Ruth Day” at the Yankee’s Stadium, Babe was introduced to fans by, Larry Cutler, a 13 year old boy who was under the leadership of Babe, when Babe took over his new job as the Director of Baseball for The American Legend. Larry spoke and represented thousands of 13 years old boys across the country. Larry said it was a special privilege and how proud he was to tell Babe welcome back to the sport of baseball. He also stated that Babe was the greatest thing that could happen in baseball and with the kids that want to learn the sport. Larry ended his introduction by telling Babe, it was a wonderful to have him back.

Babe was dying from throat cancer and was the next person to speak. As Babe began his speech, his voice was almost gone and dried out as he spoke onto the microphone. Babe mentioned to his fans his throat hurts as bad as his voice sounded. He started his speech by saying how the game of baseball comes from men representing boys. He said as a boy, when you learn how to play any type of sport, not just baseball, then you have just become the men you see playing sports today. To Babe, baseball is the only real sport; any other sport does not matter to him. Babe also stated there is a rule which a lot of people thought that if a person stops playing sports the skill that the person has of playing that sport disappears but to Babe that does not happen, has not happen and will not happen in the sport of baseball. Babe said baseball has to grow with you as a young kid; therefore, boys should start playing baseball or any sport at 6 or 7 years old and ages 15 and up was too late to start learning a sport. He said if anyone is victorious and they hard enough they will reach the ultimate goal of being on top like the sports players we have today have climbed to the top.
