True Heroism

Are you a hero? As children we all wanted to be a Superhero. The Superheroes we adored are not the best example of true heroism, sometime it just take to have a closer look to our people to realize that the real heroes are among us.

When we say heroism the first thing that comes to our min is the super heroes’ comics such as Superman, Spiderman, Batman, and others. Is that true heroism? Spiderman started his super hero’s career avenge the murderer of his uncle by killing the murderer. Batman did start to avenge his parent’s death. The element is in both cases that pushed the Superheroes to embrace their career is vengeance. This is the case for most of the Superheroes. Moreover the villains that they usually fight are most of the time regular people with costumes, which create an unbalanced scale of power. The Superheroes have super powers that give them an advantage again their enemies.

The true heroes are not to be found in the teenagers’ comics. True heroes are among us, the difference is that they don’t wear skinny tight or capes. Also they don’t make heroism their profession. A true hero is willing to protect the weak even if he will be harmed by acting so. If a lady is attacked by someone a true hero will protect her without considering the danger. To illustrate you what is true heroism the following example can be mention. One night in Brussels downtown a young man was attacked by a group of five persons, a passer-by saw the young man in the floor while the small group was beating him. He pushed as hard as he could two of the assailants and helped the young man to get back on its feet. Then, the passer-by sent him to a nearby bar to get some help while he fought to hold the group up. Unfortunately when the police arrived the passer-by was dead but has by intervene has saved the young man’s life.

In conclusion, the heroism is sometimes not what we think it is, it just take a little of bravery to discover its true...
