CD Cases Unlimited: Choosing the Right Candidate

1. The candidate that I will select would be Lisa Mitchell

2. First, Lisa is an internal employee that has been working in the organization for eight years, which is evident that she is familiar with the company. She excelled in each of the positions she was in charge in the firm delivering very impressive numbers for all the products in which she was responsible. Also, Lisa has good knowledge of all the company’s products and her last position shows that she is able to handle the manager position due to the fact previously she had to manage five different product managers. As a result, she is the perfect candidate for the QA manager position because it is evident that Lisa takes her job seriously and it’s always striving for the best for the company as her numbers showed. Having that in mind, Lisa will definitely be an excellent problem solver and will strongly help improve the quality improvement process.

3. Michael Belmont: even though he has experience with the QA manager position, historically the previous company he worked for has had significantly quality problems in which there is a possibility Michael had to do with several bad decisions while he was working for the competitors. Maybe he did not meet the standards for the position.

Jose Lopez: even though Jose has a lot of years of experience in QA his confrontational attitude towards other employees in the organization might create a lot of problems in our organization. We have to maintain a peaceful environment within our organization.

Susan Jones: for the manager position our companies needs someone who has authority and in the interview she was very quiet and shy.
