Like everyone else, unaware of what life has planned out for me, I was brought into this world on a Sunday afternoon on September 7th in 1533 at the Greenwich place. I was considered as an illegitimate child but was still raised as a Princess because I was born into royalty. I knew that my father was a very important part of England and that even I was important because I was a part of him.

My father was King Henry VIII, the king of England during the time I was born and my mother was Anne Boleyn. My mother was my father’s second wife. They got married under strange circumstances. My father changed the religion of England to marry my mother because of her love. He also really desired a son from my mother since he needed a boy to rule and take care of dynasty after his death and because he never got a son from his first wife Catherine. Nonetheless, he did have a daughter with her but daughters were not essential because they did not carry out the bloodline.

That daughter was my half sister, Mary, who I was never close to because of the differences in our religions and our ages. After my birth my father’s happiness changed into a big disappointment, since he always dreamt of having a son to carry out his bloodline. My mother did have a son but he died before he was even born.

When I was three years old my mother, Anne, was executed for adultery on Friday, 19 May 1536. I was too young to remember my mother. However, I knew what happened to her and also why it happened. This opened many doors for my father to make way and marry his third wife, Jane Seymour. After the death of my mother I started living at the Hunsdon House, in Hertfordshire and was being taken care of by Lady Bryan. My father neglected me and that led to me having no clothes and not being provided with the basic necessities for me to be living a normal life.
