Civil Case: Issue of Property Ownership

Last, February 2, 2012, we attended a court hearing at the Regional Trial Court Branch-50 Manila. The case that we observed was about Issue of Property Ownership between members of the same family. It was about a man who was sued by his siblings because of illegal contract concerning on their 2 land properties without their consent. The witness in the court was Orlando Ang, he and his other siblings was complaining about how their brother, Ambas, once showed them a document that states that He was already the owner of 2 land properties that their parents previously owned when they are still alive. After Ambas showed them the document, they were all shocked, according to the witness, because they never actually signed a document like that, so they thought that their brother was showing them a fake document and that that was illegal. So they decided to file a civil case against their brother and they want to have their shares on the property. The court asked the plaintiff to show them some documents/papers. One paper was about on how their parent acquired the 2 land properties, he also showed the legitimate titles of the 2 land properties which has the name of their parents. After that, the judge decided to call the continuation of the hearing on some other day so the defiant wasn’t able to explain his side.

I believe that the Ang siblings have a bigger chance on winning in this case because they have showed, according to them, the legitimate papers and titles of the land properties. And what their brother, Ambas, has is a fake document that was faked-signed by his siblings.
