Robin Hood Case Assignment

1. What problems does Robin Hood have? What issues need to be addressed?

The problems that Robin Hood has are the number of Merrymen growing; the travelers are finding different routes through the forest, and having insufficient resources to sustain. With the abundant amount of people joining meant the fewer goods they had, which resulted in a decline in the band’s revenue. Robin Hood had many issues to be addressed. The changes needed to be addressed immediately. Robin Hood needed better structuring and a solid foundation for staffing for the growing band of Merrymen. He needed a better strategy plan to have better management and train new members.

2. Do Robin Hood and the Merrymen need a new mission? new objectives? a new strategy?

I believe Robin Hood and the Merrymen need a new mission because Robin Hood and the Merrymen’s mission were originally made to welcome and seek new members to pursue a personal vengeance against the Sheriff and his administration. Consequently, the relationship between Robin Hood and the band became chaos. They needed a new strategy because the band members turned against Robin Hood’s principle and the communication failed. The last issue is the decision-making process within the organization. Robin Hood took charge by making all the important decisions and denied the members’ creativity of being more independent.

3. What strategic options does Robin Hood have? Is continuing with the present strategy an option or is the present strategy obsolete?

The strategic options that Robin Hood has are forming a strategic alliance with the barons in order to rescue King Richard. He would have to expand the organizations into various areas of the Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood would have to kill the Sheriff as a defensive tactic approach, and switch to a permanent tax for an offensive intentional move.
