How is it though that ones union can destroy by the union of another? If a union is sacred and has a strong foundations and both parties agreed that they loved each other “in the eyes of the lord, before the congregation, family friends and loved ones…” and have decided that theirs no one else they want to be with, if this is true how can John and Joe or Mary and Kate’s union make one unsure if they want stay together? There are many reasons people oppose gay marriage. Some reasons are religious, some oppose on behalf the children that would be involved and procreation itself as a result of gay unions. There are many reasons people present as to why gay and lesbian couples should not marry, some of which I will touch on and depict to show there really isn’t a reasons why gay persons should not be allowed to marry legally. People have there reasons why other persons should not marry but that does not stop a union from forming so why should the reasons that are being produced and proclaimed be taken into higher consideration. Same-sex marriage take some time to get use however I see no good reasons as to why it shouldn’t be allowed.

The most common reason that is being used to justify why gay marriage should be outlawed and stricken has to do with religion. “According to the bible its wrong…” if we are to exist and live as the bible says and reads we should take an eye for an eye literally. But take a bat to someone’s car because they it mine I go to jail even though the bible gives me the right away to do so. And while we are following “the bible’s teachings” last time I checked “…as long as we both shall live…” is how long a marriage is to last. So if this is the case there is no room for divorce, the option to divorce should not even exist. It is an option if one feels they made some type of mistake and eventually want out of a supposed life long commitment they originally both agreed on even if one of the parties don’t want a divorce.
