1.Why do you think it is important for HR to be a strategic partner to the business?

It is important for the Human Resource to be a strategic partner because they need to understand and be understood within the organizations environment on objectives and goals. There will be stress in a business relationship if there is a misunderstanding to the guidelines of what is truly needed or if a department is left out of the decision-making. The human resource department possess’ valuable information in which a company could use to make quality, educated and timely decisions that will contribute to the over all success of a firm. The human resource department should no longer be set apart from the company to continue to be successful at what they do. By HR being strategic partner within a firm, they could better gauge what is needed to help the firm. This will allow the department to focus on their agenda as well as the goals of the firm. These changes will also help in areas of training and development. If the HR department determines there is a need for certain training, they can identify it and implement it, instead of wasting time and money looking for solutions. With the support of all the departments working together as one, while the professional environment would be more diverse, it could potentially be the catalyst for obtaining quality information in a shorter time span, to implement a plan that could prove to be a success the firm. Having an effective communication system will permit the various departments within the firm to better understand and make agreements on how, when and why tasks need to be completed in order to climb the ladder of success.

2.What benefits do you think the employees derive from this arrangement?

With this arrangement in place it will give employees an opportunity to thrive. With the HR department becoming a strategic partner the employees will began to have a profounder understanding of how the firm actually functions....
