High Performance organizations are customer focused and traditional organizations are internally focused. In high performance organization, the teams do the planning and traditional organizations are done by management. HP jobs are broadly defined and employees possess multiple skills while TO are specialized and have narrowly defined jobs. HP has many ways to achieve the same level of performance, TO are standardized levels of performance and there is only one way to do their job. In HP rewards are based on contributions to effectiveness of the team while in traditional they are based on individual performance.

There are a variety of steps you can take to reduce both your overall stress levels and the stress you find on the job and in the workplace.

Taking responsibility for improving your physical and emotional well-being.  If you are not physically and emotionally well than everyone in your business can suffer from you such as your customers and coworkers. 

Avoiding pitfall by identifying knee jerk habits and negative attitudes that add to the stress you experience.

Learning to communicate better will ease and improve your relationships with management and coworkers.  This also involves your customers both in person and the ones that call for assistance.

Some time management tips for reducing job stress and this could also work with home lives are creating a balanced schedule, so that you do not take on more than you can handle.  Do not over-commit yourself, this will lead to not finishing projects, worrying about things that should have been done but where not because you overloaded yourself with things that could have been handled by someone else that had extra time to spare.

Try to leave earlier in the morning, doing this will give you time to get ready for the day ahead and give you a chance to breath and collect your thoughts before your day gets started.  (If I am not even a half hour early for work, I feel my day would get off on a bad...
