Ethical Issues in Management Paper

As a manager one is faced with challenges each day that test the moral and ethical values of the individual. Among many organizations there are many common ethical issue that are faced throughout the company on a daily basis. Many organizations are committed to providing a working environment where harassment of any form is unacceptable. Within an organization harassment is viewed as being offensive towards co-workers or customers and an action that creates an uncomfortable environment for the employees of the organization. Organizations also have to deal with Performance Evaluations and the managers that discriminate against the people that work for him and others through the organization. Organizations may face ethical dilemmas that can lead to ethical and legal issues despite of their efforts to avoid them. Individuals hold their own personal values and ethics, as management of an organization it is essential to maintain ones personal values along with the ethical values that are set forth by the organization.

“Zurich does not tolerate discrimination or harassment in the workplace on the basis

of age, disability, ethnicity, national origin, gender, race, color, religion, marital status, sexual orientation or any other perceived differences” (Zurich, 2010). Ethical dilemmas could happen with any one of the issues above regarding harassment in the workplace. Organizations establish a set of ethical values for the whole organization to follow.
