Google business model can be defined as a leading internet-based company providing online services globally. They are also into developing cutting edge applications for users. Key resources of Google are – Technology, like PageRank algorithms, infrastructure for high speed like self-built servers and cloud computing. Business model innovation, Google has thrived to constantly improve their search engine by giving the users back exactly what they want and also trying constantly to make their targeted ads atleast as relevant and useful to the users as the search results themselves. User experience, Google worked on this by keeping the requirements of the user first and revenue second in priority. Bottom up approach, Google has nurtured ideas from all levels in the company not just top as the case mentions about ideas like Google news and Orkut coming from engineering. Managing Innovation, Google has encouraged engineers to spend 20% of their time on self-interest projects, Google has also kept the teams small to maintain flexibility in the organization. They have managed the numerous projects very well by setting priorities as 70/20/10 rule with seventy percent of projects in core business, twenty percent in extended core business and ten percent in fundamentally new business. For revenue generation Google has used mostly an Advertising model.

They create value to the customer by giving them the best user experience while using their products like the search engine. They make this experience special to the user by keeping it simple, fast and personalized using the past search history of the user. Google has created a strong advertising model to monetize the customer value created using AdWords, AdSense and Froogle (Google Product search).
