Excel 2007:
Help and solutions to everyday worksheet use
1) Insert a Row
Find the left-most column on worksheet
Right click where you want your row
Read visual menu
Select Insert
A new row will appear
2) Entering Information
In the row you choose type the person (family) last name
Tab to next Cell
Insert the family or person first names (most should fit)
Tab to next Cell
Enter Address; space a few times after street name or apt. information so the address scrolls to next line.
3) Sorting Information
Select the heading in Column 1
Go to the Home menu and find “Sort and Filter”
Left Click the menu feature
Drag until you select A Z
There will be a prompt to expand the selection
Opt for this feature
Select the Sort option
The list will now be in alphabetical order to last name
4) Widening Columns
To widen the column place cursor between column numbers
Drag the cursor to the left or right OR select “column width”
in the feature menu
When you select the menu feature, you can enter any width
The width for that entire column will self adjust
5) Changing Row Height
Right click the row you would like
Drag down the submenu to select “Row Height”
Click on this feature
Enter a number for the row height; 35 is normal
The row will adjust to your visual needs
