As humans we always acknowledge the ones with the most money and power and we forget the ones who actually earned their prestigious name through hard work. Alexander Hamilton did not only serve as the first Secretary of the Treasury, but his interest was for the good of the country. Alexander was head of his time; he helped those in need and worked with integrity. Hamilton's one and only political loyalty was to America as a whole; he had no special interests aligned with a particular state. His thinking was more nationally oriented. Hamilton was overlooked because of the position he held in the government and mainly because he was hated by many, but he deserves to belong in the category of great founding fathers because Hamilton worked tirelessly to build a strong economic country.

Alexander Hamilton was an intellectual genius with great vision for the economic growth for America. As the first Secretary of the Treasury, he brought about significant changes in the economy. He established a Federal Bank, created a system by which the national debt could be paid and established a national credit that allowed America to evolve into one of the greatest economic powerhouses in history. He was frustrated by the lack of power of Congress; this made him determined to form a strong central government. This led him to write the introduction and article 81 in Federalists’ papers. Hamilton wanted everyone to feel as part of the country, therefore he fought for African- Americans rights as well as set a capital in the southern states for them to have more access to the government. Alexander believed self-sufficiency and industrialization is the key to successful country.

As the saying goes, “with success comes many haters.” He went from being an orphan born in Nevis to a legacy. Hamilton held a position that no one really considered important and not many people know about. Hamilton had many critics, such as Thomas Jefferson that found flaws in many of his works....
