Abstract

The Quran is one of the utmost notable mechanisms ever written. Worldwide for almost a billion people, it’s the word of God and his prophet, the Holy Scripture. Among others, it’s a historical artifact that left a permanent imprint in this world. In this paper I seek out the importance of this work and how it intertwines with my culture in which I live in today. I want to examine some of the significant history of verses and its associations for the modern world. I want to seek out and trace the influences of the Quran from the Golden Age of Islam unto the modern growth of jihadist. My references are from top Islamic scholars and holy men who have shared their insights on this Holy Scripture and the basis of one of the world’s greatest religions. This work is a guide of fundamentals that have formed the Muslim faith for over 1400 years now, and will continue on doing so to influence modern history.

The Quran is one of the most influential books of all time. A sacred text that over a billion people live by, a rule book on how to live one’s life. It has the ability to provoke many meanings. Listen to some of the most powerful words in history. Muslims are the engines of one of the fastest growing religions. It has been echoed over 1,400 years by billions. They are the words of Islam’s, Holy Book, and the Quran. Muslims believe that the Quran is something that was revealed by God dactyl to the Prophet of Islam. It’s not merely of what God inspired the Prophet to say. Or say history of some certain event, its Gods message to the world. In Arabic the word Quran means recitation, “recite”. The scripture is meant to be spoken aloud. By doing so Muslims believe they are directly communicating with God.
