Creating a plan for positive influence

A company is measured by quality and responsibility to their employees and the community. Positive influence affects the team’s motivation, satisfaction, and performance. Leaders in the company strive to inspire employees to proficiently perform tasks at hand. Teams are diverse in nature. The diversity can range from feelers, extroverts, introverts, judgmental, perceivers, and intuitive individuals, age, sex race and origin. To recognize the positive and negative attributes of each trait will strengthen the team. Emotional intelligence will help determine the level of professionalism and how each member copes with diversity.


Healthy motivation produces better quality for the company and higher self-satisfaction for the employee. Different combinations of motivational tools work since the quantitative and qualitative factors that define the employee’s motives are different. An employee’s motivation will change over the years depending on their needs. This possibly makes the skill of motivating the most complex part of the profession. Motivation is a critical part of any company. It helps organize the company in changing times. K.L. Smith said it best, “Motivation is survival.” Common motivational tools are job security benefits, paid time off, Safe work environment and recognition of hard work (Heathfield, para. 8). Psychologist Fredrick Herzberg believes true motivators are achievement, recognition, responsibility, and advancement.

1. Achievement- Guarantee that each employee is recognized for their value and contribution in the project. Let the team know any feedback from the client or customers for performance or service.

2. Recognition- Managers and leaders should personally recognize and praise the team for a job well done.
