1.) This article talks about using social media in recruitment, and how we can target more people through various portals. What are some advantages to social media? What are some disadvantages? What are the risks to using social media?

After reading this article, I have basic idea about how to use social media in recruitment and read

other articles to have more knowledge of social media.

Advantages:

(1) “Higher offer acceptance rates — I think people can use social networks to attract and communicate with candidates may result in higher offer acceptance rates among finalists.” I

(2) “Hidden candidates — it may identify qualified candidates who cannot be found or successfully messaged using other sources.” When we target potential candidates from certain “job title” or “key words” in recent job boards , we may not recruit more high quilted candidates, and we may can find the, from posting message on the Face book, Twitter, LinkedIn to find it.

Disadvantages:

Time Inefficiency: We can use this tool to find more quilted candidates from group discussion, but it spends lots time to recruit. Sometimes, we may need to read unrelated candidates’’ background or job skills.

Risk:

People may provide untrue background information in Face book, we may find wrong candidates. Therefore, People may use those social networks to spread bad message to harm company’s reputation.
