1. Assess the types of changes and new developments in technology and government regulations that should be considered in long-range planning requirements for updating or replacing an HRIS. One can argue that the primary purpose of any HRIS must be to promote superior use of data to motivate effective decision-making for addressing daily challenges and definitely impacting HR procedures and practice. However, the way technology is vastly progressing; many organizations are forced to think ahead of time to keep up with so many changes in the business realms. Yet, organization must warrant that management practices support the needs of the organizations and it must persistently monitor the ever changing environmental conditions and devise strategies for dealing with them (Kleiman, 2012). That is why when an organization is determining a long-range planning, it must consider how long the plan should be and what needs are to be met.

The drives of HR planning are to empower organizations to anticipate their future needs and to ascertain practices that will help them to meet those needs. In addition, it is depend on the situation and needs of the organization; the planning strategies should include unceasing collection of feedback from the corporates leaders about changing data needs and improvements that align with those needs. Nevertheless, directing an HRIS assessment and improving existing systems, infrastructure and data collection procedures can prove over time to be an exhaustive challenge for any organization. As such, the initial planning team should make certain that the HRIS that is developing actually meets the needs, saves costs, and time when software development gets in motion.
