I. Background

The leader we chose that exemplifies effective leadership is Rosanna Llenado. She did not come from affluent, influential nor political clan. She had humble beginnings and ordinary profile. She married in her twenties, and a hands-on mom in rearing her four kids. Her mom, being the most influential person in her life, had deeply ingrained in her the importance of education, hence, their poverty had not been a hindrance in pursuing and excelling in her studies. She graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1986 with a degree in AB Communication Arts.

In 1995, at age 25, she founded AHEAD Learning Systems, Inc. and is likewise its current President. Her company has been the pioneer in Test-Based Review Program for College Entrance Examination with the following guiding concept: Change then-prevailing notion that tutorial services are for flunking students; position tutorial services as competitive tools for high achievers. Today the company continues to grow through distinct service brands:

AHEAD Interactive – bringing tutorial services to the rest of the world via a dynamic propriety video conferencing platform.

She further enriched her knowledge and entrepreneurial skills by completing a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship at Asian Institute of Management (2007-2009) and a Master’s degree in Education Administration at Ateneo de Manila University (2005 - 2010). She was conferred the Periquet Business Leadership Award in 2004 and Ilaw ng Karunungan Award in 2011.
