Negotiation is a technique that people use to make decisions and manage disputes. Daily individuals make decisions in which negotiating is needed to come to a reasonable conclusion between the parties. Negotiation is a process of solving problems between two or more people that are willing to discuss the differences to come to a decision together to solve their concerns. Negotiation can arise between children and parents, husband and wives, employees and managers in addition to customers and company representatives. Within negotiation there is a requirement to have patience to be capable to identify the many issues and concerns and to educate one another about the interest of the parties involved and to come to a reasonable final agreement that satisfy the parties involved. Within this paper we will discuss a negotiation situation that I have participated in. We will also analyze the roles of communication and the personalities within the negotiation and how they assisted with contributing to the success of the negotiation deal.

Communication

During the negotiation process one of the most important factors that the parties involve is considered to be communication. Communication can vary within the formality of the particular negotiation situation in addition is progressively more specific oriented and comprehensive. Communication has an impact that can assist with influencing the overall mindset of the persons involved within negotiating. As within negotiating we strive to influence the decision of the other individuals involved in addition attempt to understand the other parties’ personality traits. Communication within negotiating can be both verbal and non-verbal in which both techniques seen messages within the negotiation process.
