My Bird

A few years back, I adopted a bird, an African grey, from a family member. My aunt had owned him since he was a hatchling and raised him to a healthy seven year old bird. The bird has been passed onto my grandfather and then to me. His name is Rock-a-doodle. He is an African Grey parrot; originally the breed comes from Congo, Africa. Rock-a-doodle is about a foot tall from head to toe. The color in the type of breed of parrot describes the birds exactly. They are all gray except for the tail, their tails are red, bright red. He is a very beautiful bird except for his mouth, when someone is trying to watch a movie at my house because he will not shut up. A movie cannot be enjoyed due to the fact that the bird will laugh, chuckle, giggle, fart, and just make about every noise possible.

Matthew enjoys the bird for the most part but doesn’t enjoy getting told what to do by it. Personally, it is hilarious to me. Neighbors and friends enjoy Rock-a-doodle but I have had to warn them time and time again, he will bite and he does draw blood. It never fails though, people always try to pet him and what does Rock-a-doodle do, he bites them and causes severe pain. I can’t say I have never warned any of them, I have, many times. They just do not listen and get to feel the pain from a hook-bill parrot.

The food he eats amazes people when I tell them, he loves hard-boiled egg yolks, so much as...
