The techniques I have used to learn vocabulary is reading. When I read and see words I do not know how to pronounce, the dictionary is always beside me. With new technology I use thesaurus or Merriam Webster dictionary online which, is very helpful to pronouncing words and the syllable is broken down to help pronounce the word. The Merriam Webster also has a medical dictionary. Pronouncing and understanding the word helps me use the vocabulary in sentences.

I think these techniques would apply in HCA220 learning how to pronounce the medical terminology. When I go to the doctor and I hear the words like: electrocardiogram and more. Breaking down electrocardiogram in syllables, Ex: electr-o-cardi-o-gram , I analysis the syllables to understand the word and then pronounce it.
