Presentation Assessment Criteria This assignment is worth 20% of the end of year result.

Please see the course planner for submission dates for the group presentation Your assignment is to prepare a 10 minute class presentation in a group with 4-6 students that illustrates a topic covered in class. The purpose of this assessment is to create a link between theory and practise. It is important therefore to make sure that you make this link explicit during the presentation. Your 10 minute presentation should cover (in the following order): • • • Explaining the theories that can be used to explain your topic of interest Finding research evidence that supports your topic of interest using journal articles Present a case study from a journal, a web resource or your own experience to illustrate theory and practise. You might like to use video footage here to make the presentation more entertaining.

Here’s an example of how you might approach the presentation if your topic of interest was “High Performing Cross-Functional Teams” • • • What are the different relevant theories that explain high performing teams (critical success factors – see your text on page 214 and step 1 on page 224). Find a recent study about high performing teams in the workplace. Use this empirical evidence to provide an example of what makes high performing teams. Present a case study from a team member who talks about use of teams at his/hers workplace. Are they successful or unsuccessful? Link your case study findings back to the theories and other research evidence.

You will find more detailed criteria below that will used to mark your presentation.
