I am an immigrant of Mexico. I’m considering if I want to stay in Mexico or go to the United States. There are some things I have to consider before I make a major decision, such as the cost, employment, my family, and etc. Would I want to immigrate to the United States? First thing I need to look at is the job market between the two places. In Mexico the job market is not sufficient and it has been extremely had to make ends make meet, based on the wages I have been currently receiving. However, I have a cousin in the United States that owns a successful landscaping company. He has insured me that I will have a guaranteed spot with his team of workers, if I can get to the U.S. The next thing I have to consider is the fees of getting my citizenship. I have half the money to pay certain fees and my cousin has agreed to help me with the other half. I feel that United States government policies should not implement immigrants to pay such a large amount to become a legal citizen of the U.S. Financial stability is one of the most difficult situations that I would be facing in the transition from Mexico to the United States.

I think that all immigrants should be treated equally. There have been some cases where the American government looks highly upon an Asian or African immigrant because of the financial resources they may have. However, when it comes to an immigrant from Mexico they may be quick to deport them because they have not gone through the proper channels to get certified and registered through the USCIS. When it comes to an immigrant getting citizenship to become a resident of the United States they should shine upon who is the neediest or who will be the most talented or who has faced the most oppression. Every immigrant should have the same opportunity as the other as far as being productive citizens.
