Do you ever find yourself in a bad predicament when it comes to technology? Who doesn’t have this problem these days? Always having the feeling you need to be on your phone, stuck in front of your television, or computer. There is a whole other world out there besides cyber messages and TV shows.

People are having to visit the doctor more often due to the significant usage amount of technology (Fenell). We have become too dependent on entertaining ourselves with cellphones, computers, and televisions; so dependent that even when in the same room we often will find ourselves messaging someone who is right next to us. We use these means of technology to substitute face to face communication. No matter where we are, technology follows us; tweeting, texting, facebooking, and youtubing on our phones and computers constantly. If all we do is sit around being counterproductive, we do less of physical activity and become unhealthy, which causes major health problems.

Have you ever actually thought about the dangers of the web? Who are you really talking to, or what are you actually putting out there for everyone to see? These are all very serious things to think about when it comes to communicating on wireless devices. When someone is behind a computer screen, they suddenly can become whoever they want to be, and will do whatever they please. Sexual predators and cyber bullies are everywhere. It may not happen to everyone but it’s reported about 39 percent of the U.S it has happened to. You may think it’s harmless and that it can’t happen to you, but it’s out there and it can happen to anyone. Teens often find themselves invincible and that is so far from true, which is why we as a whole are targeted more. We become too careless and don’t think about what we’re actually sending out to others.
