When Thomas Green received job offer from McDonald, McDonald expressed her concern for Green’s lack of managerial experience. This lack of experience has shown through his actions. After being rapidly promoted Thomas Green disagree with his new superior Frank Davis on work styles and market projections. Davis mentions the opportunities in the hotel and rental car markets, but Green believes that there are more opportunities in an up-selling and crows-selling software program for airlines. Green also worked independently on this project, and did not communicate his actions with Davis, problem that Davis had mentioned in his October meeting. Green’s inability to listen to Davis’s suggestions made him defensive. Green was not able to accept Davis’s criticisms since he felt Davis criticized him but not his actions and poor judgment. Green’s negative attitude toward Davis’s future sales projections saying “10% was unachievable” and that Davis based goals on “creative accounting” resulted in silent conflict between two men. Moreover Green’s failure to provide proper evidence to back his claim to Davis’s sales projection put Green’s job into jeopardy. Green’s failure was a result of poor communication and evidence gathering. Senior specialists in the company supported their positions with hard data gathered through research and client meetings. Green preferred to keep all the information in his head and refused to create comprehensive charts for clients and Davis.

Thomas Green’s job performance and actions as a Senior Market Specialist have been unsatisfactory. Green excelled in identifying industry trends, and evaluating new business opportunities. Yet Green lacked in the area of obtaining his sales goal.
