Abstract

In this current growing environment of technology and continuous development large corporations are facing difficulties. In this paper, I will discuss both Ford Motor Company and Honda Motor Corporation which are considered as two large multinationals and the way they maintain themselves on the floating line.

Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to develop the fundamentals of tactical plans by creating SWOT analyses and by proposing strategies for these two multinationals Ford and Honda. The research areas that will be explored are as follow: impact of potential change factors, economic, social and legal environments, operational and financial issues, management structure, performance projections for the next five years, external and social challenges and an evaluation of tactical intent. As well as alternative propulsion systems and fuels, current manufacturing facilities and distribution channels and demographics and market demands. Upon addressing the above mentioned areas the paper will conduct a SWOT analysis of Ford Motor while proposing a strategy which will consider one of the weaknesses and what to do to eliminate it determining five factors for each category. The same analysis will also be done for Honda.

Legal, Economic, Social Environments and Financial Data

According to (Meiners, Ringleb, and Edwards, 2008) the is no precise definition of law within the business world however it can be referred to as a conduct code that assesses the behavioral boundaries for the activities in business. Since both companies are from the automobile industry they have similar regulations in that the majority of their complaints and/or issues generally come from their partners, clients, environment or banks.
