Abstract

Ethnocentrism is a factual truth. Generally people believe that their culture is better than the other people. For centuries power and greed plays a major role in ethnocentrism. There are at least three things which could cause a war between countries and they are greed, misunderstanding of religion and different cultural beliefs.

According to William G Summer, Ethnocentrism is the tendency of an individual to believe that the customs and traditions he or she is following is better than any one else’s. Ethnocentrism makes a person believe the ethnic group traditions, customs, cultures, language and many other racial aspects of other people as lower or inferior relative to their own .It has often lead an individual to believe in false pride, superiority complex concerning one’s own ethnicity, vanity and contemptuous behavior towards the people who differ...
