Whats with the Holidays

There’s one to many holidays if you ask me. Don’t get me wrong the holidays are there to bring people close, but hasn’t their meaning kind of gone out the window? When a kid talks about Christmas it’s about toys. No offence to the women out there that deserve it, but most of them seem to ask; what’s going on for Valentine’s Day? Easter, is there even much to say? The messiah passes and we get a bunny. Are you serious people? The meaning for these holidays has been forgotten.

December 25th, Christmas, Noel, I don’t even know the meaning of noel. There’s a tree that goes up every year, and its function is to be used for gifts. A big guy in a red suit is said to put the gifts under this tree. So when mom and dad are broke Santa doesn’t come. The child’s belief dwindles when the realization sets in, there’s no Santa. So your parents are broke and Christmas hasn’t much of a meaning. Without opining the presents there is no reason to you, for this holiday.

This thought goes though many minds, including the majority of the younger. I look at Christmas as being a stimulation of the economy. Isn’t this holiday about giving? Why can’t the gift of your presents around the dinner table be acknowledged as a gift? Why does money have to ruin the joy in simplicity? Many should realize the religious aspect and be thankful for what’s said to have been done. A gift doesn’t need to be material position.
