Tree-a Saint

When one looks at a tree, he sees it as a tall perennial woody plant having a main trunk and branches forming a distinct elevated crown. Looking at a saint is someone whose is virtue and holy. At first, the two may seem to have nothing in common; however, what is on the outside does not always reflect what is on the inside. Digging deeper, many similarities between a tree and a saint can be discovered in regards to there physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. Both saints and trees are connected to their divine source, both are willing to sacrifice themselves for others, and lastly when they are placed in stressful situations they remain unaffected.

One of the greatest connections between Saints and Trees is that they are both connected to a divine source, thus following a higher law. The sources of trees are, as science says, sunlight, water, and soil. Without these basic elements a tree cannot survive. The divine source for a saint is his connection to a higher source, some call it God. As many religions indicate, a saint is he who is in constant communication with this source, and that all the good, noble virtues of this source are possessed by the saint. Without this fundamental divine, natural source both the tree and the saint are like a fish out of water. These sources keep them alive and healthy.

Another, similarity between a tree and a saint is that both are willing to sacrifice themselves for a good cause. I mean by sacrifice is where a sacrifice take place for love, or even for a good cause. Love does not mean love only for their own people; it means equal love for all living creatures. A living tree provides many things to all, without discrimination; it provides oxygen and breathes in human waste, gives off shade to all, we use its branches and trunk to build fire, furniture, houses and many other wonderful things. During all this, the tree stands silently, obeying natural order, and gives off itself...
