World Mythology
How is the word myth used popularly? For example, what does the statement, “It’s a myth” mean? In contrast, how is the word myth used in the academic context? After considering the definition in your textbooks and course materials, write a definition in your own words.
Myth used to relate and have reason for everything’s we do as a society we need logically meaning for purpose for things we need and believe, with this we turn to myths, when we as a society reference to a myth we believe there is a truth but also not stating all of the facts, Many myths that we live by have been changed from person to person. For example when you go a friend place and you whisper in someone else’s ear a phrase or a statement and it goes to multiple times from person to person, is it possible to get the same phrase or the statement at the first time. A myth is a form of story that did or did not happened in ancient times. To me a myth is a story that is told to children to either scare them or make them feel like they can do anything they want even though the story may in all actually never happened, Myths are like fairy tales we love them but we do not know if they truly happened or not.
Why do myths from different cultures around the world address such similar or universal themes? Think about how myths explain the unknown and the tribulations of mankind.
We could go back as far to our present time we all believe in a higher powers in which we all believe where we as humans came from we created by God as we all knows, and become human beings we might from in different country different cultures, believing different God, but we all having the same ways of the main purpose such as: Jesus Christ resurrection some cultures celebrated December 24, some cultures celebrate December 25, death and 3 days later resurrection.
