Future of Modernization

Modernization, whether good or bad, has manifested itself into today’s society. Modernization is not only a trend of the U.S., it affects people worldwide. Politically, environmentally, socially, and even economically, modernization has its effects. There are many consequences as well as positive aspects of modernization. We are going to explore all the areas of modernization mentioned and more throughout this essay.

Modernization often manifests itself in today’s U.S. society through social change which started with industrialization. People may try to transform themselves or surroundings to fit in with modern society. We can look back at history to see how this change has affected us. We can look at colonialism, the American Revolution and the rise of capitalism. With each invention made we learn new things that are brought to our future generations. We can look at how cavemen discovered fire which led them to a new place in life. We can look when language came to be and how it changed the way people treated each other. Learning to write and read led to more people wanting to learn and people made more sophisticated choices. We can look how type writers led to computers, palm pilots, electronic organizers, and more. The telephone and Morse code even led to greater technologies such as cell phones. With our increased knowledge and diversity we are also making different choices and have smaller communities. Modernization made people more aware of the future, which helped to decrease the size of communities and make a more diverse surrounding.

Modernization will continue is the U.S. Not only will modernization continue in the U.S. other countries will continue to compete with the U.S. for the latest, and greatest, developments.
