Ross Lane established Pepsi Bottling Company in 1936. Lane had a son the same year named John E. Lane. John led his family’s business through great growth in the business. Pepsi Bottling is the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of Pepsi Cola beverages. They have over 60,000 employees and annual sales of 14 billion dollars. Pepsi Bottling has operations all over the world, including places like Canada, Mexico, Russia, Spain and several more places. They have grown a lot over the years since it was established.

Pepsi bottling has also been working hard with the generations on meeting needs of the environment, economic and social needs as well. They use less raw materials by recycling, that means less waste and less electricity used to make the product. Therefore they are lowering the cost as well. Pepsi Bottling has also developed programs to promote a safe environment, they create a safe workplace, and they build a social awareness in the communities.

In 2009 Pepsi bottling group had a profit of $211 million or 96 cents a share. With all this Pepsi Bottling group faced several challenges over the years even though they are the largest group in the united states they have realized that the sales of carbonated soft drinks has declined because the consumer has turned to a healthier drink. Even with this Pepsi Bottling has still had a steady growth in sales. Some of their products are Pepsi cola, seria mist, mountain dew, Lipton ice tea; star bucks coffee drinks, Gatorade sport drinks and sobe juices and teas, and Aquafina water. Aquafina water is the top selling brand of bottled water in the United States.

Pepsi bottling group has a good professional relationship with PepsiCo. PepsiCo owns 41% of Pepsi bottling common stock and maintains about 47% of Pepsi bottling voting power. This can have positive and negative effectives in their relationship.
