1) How did you start your career?

Wasn’t a great start, not at least how I imagined it would be. But sticking to the plan is the key.

2) What do your day to day activities involve in the role of a Technology director?

Major part it deals with decisions and meetings. There is already a hierarchy in place and my teams which consist of managers, senior managers and vice presidents take care of the operations and implementation while I only deal with project level and firm level decisions in terms of technology.

3) A normal day would involve how many hours of work and how does that affect your personal life?

Being what I am takes long hours of travelling, meeting people and finalizing deals and projects. My family understands that and that’s just the way it works now. A typical day would involve 9-12 hours of work.

4) How do you encourage talent and upgrade skills for your teams? Does it happen always happen in-house through trainings or KTs or do you always go through hiring?

The demand for good talent has always been strong and we are willing to put out a welcome note to worthy candidates. We have our teams doing cross skill trainings every week so we stay ahead in the game. A Linux guy gets trained in Solaris and an AIX guy gets trained in Linux. This way we know we are well equipped and also employees like it too coz they get to learn something new in every training. They retain it or not is going to be their choice but it’s our job to provide them the opportunity.

5) What are your hiring policies and do you have any requirements?...
