Fostering team communication is important when working together. In our group coming from diverse backgrounds, we still have the same common goal, obtain good grades and finish our education. We each might be at a different stage of completing our degree and even have a program degree that is different from one another. We understand that in order to be effective we have to be in communication all the time, luckily technology has made it easier for us. From the moment we started our team, we were introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. We discussed the project and we all took the initiative to work on our part without hesitation. We made our rules and also an inventory of our skills that will help us with the class. We are learning from each other because we all have different skills. We foster communication by asking the team members if we are all in agreement and if we all understand what each need to do on their part. We established the communication channels that will work with the team including e-mail addresses and phone numbers etc. We have created deadlines for team members to present their part of the work to allow time to compile the work and present it to the instructor.

We understand that even with the same goals, there can be some potential barriers for team members to complete a work, we have created rules that we all agreed on how to resolve any conflict if it happens. The information can be found on our learning team charter from week one presented to our instructor. Another example within our team of how we foster communication is the open communication that we have. We all share ideas on the team assignment and critic the finished product to ensure the quality of the project meets or exceeds the expectations of the written assignment.
