Charlotte North Carolina has a rich history in being known as a great place for hosting special events such as sporting events, concerts, pageants and many more. Charlotte is home to some of the most talked about restaurants, and facilities in America, which makes it easy for them to house some very special events.

The first main event that seems to be one of the most popular among the festivities in this city is what’s known as BBQ and Blues hosted by Time Warner Cable. This event has been deemed as the largest BBQ event in the south ("Bbq and blues," ). The main purpose of this event is to gather around 90 teams to get together and cook their BBQ the best way they know how. Judging is based on several different categories such as best sauce, ribs, side dish, and of course ribs among several different other meats. The competition for this event gets fierce seeing that the grand prize if a hefty $25,000!

In addition to great food, this event brings in some of the most well know country and blues artists in the industry. The main stage is set up inside the beautiful Time Warner Cable arena home to the charlotte bobcats. This facility houses close to 20,000 people and this event will fill just about every one of those seats.

The city of Charlotte is more than happy to be the host of this event every year due to the fact that not only is it always a success but it bring tremendous amounts of publicity and people who are not from the state to this event. All of Charlotte’s fine dining and wonderful night life and entertainment is perfect for hosting this event, tourists have many selections when it comes to the entertainment aspect of the city, Charlotte is well known for its night clubs and downtown dining.

As far as the revenue goes from this event, Charlotte pockets over $100k each year from this event even after the bills are paid. The publicity alone from this event...
