Is Global Warming Really a Threat or An Overly Publicized Theory by Scientist?

Global warming is something that we as a human race have to be concern with because it affects the very existence, as we know it for our children, the environment, and us. We have to ask ourselves is this a real treat to our future or is this a way of scientist being able to capture themselves and possibly do such things as write books and television interview to gain public support. This essay will definitely prove that Global warming is “real” and it poses a huge threat to the existence of human, animals and plant life, as we know it. It will look at the opinions and statements of different world leader groups, and individual, and it will focus on policy makers and private business who think global warming is not as bad as scientist have stated. They have even gone to the extent to state the research and findings of scientist are skewed in their favor therefore leaving the people of opposition no grounds for argument. The paper will first provide an overview of global warming; it will then look at the group who are in denial of global warming and the group who support global warming. The supporters of global warming are saying this is a real problem with catastrophic effects if no changes are made. It will then give a comprehensive review of both sides with a conclusion that will demonstrate with clarity and certainty that Global Warming is a real problem that needs attention and action now before it is too late.

Global warming is described as an increase in the average temperature of the Earths near surface air and oceans. In 1957 an observatory located in Mauna Loa Volcano Hawaii which was constructed to provide data on air chemistry in a remote, pristine environment. Surprisingly measurements showed (C02) levels increasing about 0.5 percent per year, rising from 315ppm in 1958 to 385ppm in 2008 (Cunningham & Cunningham, 2009).
