I did my presentation on how to motivate restaurants in your community to include nutrition information on the menu. It is assumed that the intended audience will be the restaurant owners and managers, unless you identify a different audience. My primary audience will be restaurant owners and managers. My purpose would be to get the point across on how important it is to let people know the nutrition intake by printing it on the menu.

While doing this presentation I learned a lot about the reason and purpose of putting nutritional information on menu’s at restaurants. At first I felt like it was really up to the owner of the restaurants to make that choice, but after all the information I gather and read, I do think it should be a law requiring all restaurants to put nutritional information on the menu, because if the information is right in front of you it may help some people to make better choices and try to help eat better. I know if I was in a restaurant and I was watching my weight and was concerned about what I was eating then If I knew that a burger had over let’s say 600 to 700 calories I would take a second look at the menu especially if I am on a 1500 to 1700 calorie diet that takes all my calories away. So I think it is very important to put this information in front of the consumer because the United States has the highest obesity rate and something needs to be done about that.

I’m not for sure the stake holders will be influenced by my presentation but I do think in my opinion it should make a difference on how the process can help the consumers make better eating choices. I work in the nutrition field at work and I will present this to my district manager and hopefully she can help me make it a better presentation in order to present it at a health fair or something of that extinct.
