John F. Kennedy
Brief History
John F. Kennedy was born in Brookline Massachusetts on May 29th of 1917 into a rich
Boston, Irish Catholics, family which was well connected political on both sides of the family.
John was the second of nine children. His mother, Rose was the daughter of John F. Fitzgerald
once mayor of Boston. His father Joseph P. Kennedy had a hand in multiple businesses
ventures over the years but his true love was politics. Joseph Kennedy placed high expectation
on all the children both physically and intellectually especially the four boys, Joseph, John,
Robert and Edward. This created intense competition among the siblings but it was that of
public service not private gain was the ideal instilled in the Kennedy children. All of the
Kennedy children attended elite private schools. During WWII Joseph P. Kennedy was
appointed by Franklin D. Roosevelt to be the ambassador to Great Britain after he had served
as head of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He was a Democrat. I married Jackie and
had two children.
Education
John F. Kennedy attended predominant schools all his life, in 8th grade he attended the
predominant Roman Catholic private boarding school in Connecticut as a child were teacher
believed he performance was less than his potential. He first enrolled at Princeton to keep
from having to compete with his older brother Joseph. He became ill and had to drop out after
only six weeks. The following year he enrolled at Harvard University. John F. Kennedy
during his last semester working on his thesis at Harvard University served under his father,
ambassador to Great Britain, as his secretary. He used this experience to draw from to write
his thesis on Great Britain’s military unpreparedness. John graduated in 1940 with a Bachelor
of Science in International Affairs. In the fall of 1940 John enrolled and audited classes at the
Stanford Graduate School of Business.
