INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW

The premise of this paper is to present a synopsis of a practical Human Resource plan that can be utilized by Urbanest Student Accommodation as it prepares to kick off operations in the UAE in September, 2014.

1.1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In a nutshell, Urbanest is one of the largest providers of student accommodation in Australia and also provides student accommodation in several sites within the U.K.

Basically, Urbanest selects suitable locations for student lifestyles taking into consideration close proximity to transport links, universities and social centers. It then designs and constructs purpose built student accommodations on these sites.

Furthermore, unlike strata developments, the single ownership of these facilities foster effective communication channels with the local communities where these sights are located.

Finally, student accommodation is Urbanest’s only business, and as such, it prides itself on setting the benchmark for all other student accommodations.

While Urbanest has been in operations since 2007 with multiple sites in Australia and The United Kingdom, its foray into the Middle Eastern market will require a slightly different approach from what it is used to. It must take into consideration the different cultural dynamics and laws that apply in the UAE concerning its internal processes...
