This article aims to shed a light on the ongoing discussion of identity theft and the effort to understand what is going on and how to stop it. Through education based programs and the actions of the public and the private sector, this article tries to demonstrate how to protect one’s self from this. This article talks about the many ways to protect yourself and also talks about things that is often out of our control. This author is a great source because of his background in the financial industry and what he has studied.

Rebovich, D.J. (2009). Examining Identity Theft. Empirical Explorations of the Offenders, 4(4), 357-364

This article calls attention to the need to develop and conduct empirical research to provide a clearer and more comprehensive picture of common characteristics of the crime of identity theft and, also, of those who commit it. Rebovich has been cited for writing of this type and what I have found that he is a good source on the subject of identity theft.
