I have decided to pursue a profession in the business/marketing field. The reason for my choice is because the concepts and priciples of marketing relate significantly with my views and beliefs. Business success can not be achieved without a customer base because without an open market there is no one to sell your product or service to. The decision of what to market is based on the demands of the consumers because the consumers are the most important survival factor in any thriving business. The customer is always right is the number one rule in business and especially one where your consumers are your main source of profit. This way of thinking is the key to success for customer based professions. I am also a consumer so I know how important it is to have a established relationship with the supplier of the goods you desire. Quality is priceless to some people and this explains why goods are sold at very expensive prices. Marketing is more than a career but is also a philosophy. It incorporates principles that concentrate on the needs and satisfaction of the customers. Customer satisfaction is the top priority and is the focal point of all business activity. The philosophy is driven by the passion to provide exceptional customer service in order to reach the best business success. This concept is a philosophy that is followed by producers and manufacturers of goods and services.

Marketing is a fairly new profession comparable to accounting, production, economics, and other business fields. The process was not introduced until the early 1900’s and prior to that time most concepts that are now commonly associated with marketing were assumed to fall within the basic concepts of economics, advertising, or other areas.
