Abstract

The content of this paper explores three topics that are important to anyone who may be struggling in any area of their lives. I will discuss how bitterness is an evil spirit that invades the heart, and causes the person to find ugly in all things. Satan uses bitter people to gain access into our churches, but if we have a forgiving heart; it keeps the door closed to the devil. Pride is another area the Christians must overcome. We should keep God first in everything and understand we are nothing without Him. Both of these topics and many other hindrances can be defeated if we learn to keep out minds stayed on God. While Satan tries to present false beliefs in our minds, we should constantly study God’s word so that we know the truth about Him and ourselves.

Therefore, we cannot have the mind of Christ. This paper will take a look at how these three themes must be conquered while counseling and displaying true discipleship.
