The business world, and especially the real world of accounting can be an extremely intimidating thought for college students facing graduation. Every soon-to-be graduate with an accounting concentration must vigorously search for a company who is willing to hire them. Their knowledge and capabilities in this area are obviously a vital part of the interview and hiring process, but before they do anything, they must first be accepted for an interview. This seems to be very difficult for graduates, during the job search process. To make it bit less stressful, a list of about 60+ public accounting firms in the Boston area has been compiled (find attached to the paper).

The list contains the names of the public accounting firms, their location, the size of the firm (partners/other professionals), whether they accept interns, their web address, and whether their website clearly states entry level job opportunities. This list can help reassure any seniors or graduates that there are dozens of accounting firms that they can apply to, around the Boston area alone. Of course there are firms elsewhere, but many students are concerned with firms located near to them.

This list can be a jump start for certain individuals to contact companies that interest them, based on size, location, and any entry level openings. An important aspect of this list that must be realized, is that although a firm’s website may not clearly state any entry level position openings, students and graduates should not hesitate to contact them for an interview. Many firms are looking for motivated beginners who show an interest in their operations. It would expend too much time, space, and energy to fully research all of these firms, so four different, key firms were chosen for examination.
