Introduction:

PepsiCo, Inc. is one of the industries largest beverage and snack providers in the entire world. With PepsiCo’s diverse product line and there opportunity to penetrate into global markets this is a new position that we need to implement into our portfolio. Over the last several weeks I have compiled an some intrinsic valuation metrics for you all to analyze about what the future may bring with PepsiCo. Through my research I would say that PepsiCo is a stable, safe and profitable company that would add value to our overall portfolio. In order to understand what PepsiCo is all about let’s take a look at the company’s history and strategy moving forward.

History:

PepsiCo has found its niche in the market by being a worldwide leader in providing snacks, foods and beverages with over sixty billion dollars in revenue and providing more than 300,000 jobs worldwide (1). PepsiCo was created though a company merger between Donald M. Kendall who was President and Chief Executive Officer of Pepsi-Cola and Herman W. thus far at PepsiCo she has put an emphasis on growth by investing in a healthier future for people. With the way society is now and the way the media bombards consumers with “health kicks” this is a great strategy moving forward. In keeping with this growth strategy, PepsiCo is now listed on the Dow Jones North America Sustainability Index and the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index. PepsiCo (symbol: PEP) is a publicly traded company. PEP can be bought or sold on the New York Stock Exchange.

Industry Versus PepsiCo:

PepsiCo as a firm would fall under the beverages or soft drink industry. According to yahoo, PepsiCo has forty-one other competitors ercent, the earnings per share grew twelve percent and eight billion dollars was returned to shareholders in the form of repurchases and dividends.
