St Vincent

After reviewing the information at hand, it is somewhat recognizable that there are several options that can save St. Vincent Hospital in New York. The main question though is if one is truly willing to change the operation of the historic hospital. If operations would have been changed a long time ago, bankruptcy filed in 2005 could have potentially been avoided and if that would have still occurred than one should have learned from mistakes and avoided the financial troubles that were created after filing for bankruptcy.

An option that exists is to move the Hospital to a different venue to see if there will be less liabilities associated with the new location and an increase in overall assets. However, that attempt was made in 2010 and was frowned upon. It is vey understandable that there are certain rules and regulations that govern medicine and it is understandable that there are doctrines that govern Catholicism. There does come a time though where one must shut an eye and do what is best for a business and this moment calls for shutting at least one eye. The hospital wants to uphold their tradition but there is a question on whether the tradition will cost them revenue or not.

It is not necessarily true that if the hospital was to adopt different views that the hospital would not be the same it has been over the last 160+ years. If there was a new vision implemented then potentially there could be an increase in quality, satisfaction, accessible information, safety and so on. A need for accessibility would not be a necessity since the hospital is located in Manhattan, however, there would potentially be an increase in money and funding. Outlying facilities that are being funded by the main hospital should be shut down to focus on the main facility and the money trouble rather than having to run several buildings.
