When two rivals in the same arena are battling each other to the bitter death; there could be only one Victor. Well maybe in a tale story, but in reality competition is healthy and companies like FedEx and UPS are competing for the right reason and in the right direction. FedEx and UPS must draw upon their strengths and improve their weaknesses if they hope to win the battle. Like sports rivalries, corporate rivalries are fun. FedEx Corp is the world’s leading air-express delivery service, most likely because of their close relationship with Congressmen and the White House. UPS on the other hand is has become the world's largest package delivery company for ground delivery services. The two companies have been pitching media advertising campaigns, claiming that they are the greenest and most sustainable company. FedEx is the greenest and most sustainable company because they compete for quality service, and safe on-time package shipping.
FedEx and UPS are both striving to achieve the greener and more sustainable company. Both companies have put in major effort to be able to display a positive image by implementing practice which helps support and impact the triple bottom line. Both companies have increased the number of hybrid and electric vehicles, and also have both moved to recyclable packaging materials. FedEx is constructing green buildings, while UPS uses the Global Reporting Initiative to calculate sustainable measures. FedEx is an active member of the Electrification Leadership Council to gain support from government to help support them in their triple bottom line effort. Both UPS and FedEx have said they will reduce emissions from their airlines by 20% between 2005 and 2020....
