How would you develop a training that conveys to multiple audiences within the organization?

Developing an effective training program is a strategy that would help generate needed income and thus maximize profits at Desert Communications. For a program to be successful it must be tailored to meet current organizational developmental needs. It must rise to meet the challenges in the communication industry brought about by new changes. Knowledge of company demographics and learning needs is most useful in developing activities and exercises to assist employees accomplish learning objectives. The United States Department of Labor OSHA Training and Education Office (1996) advised training material planning and organizing to begin after analyzing the audience to determine characteristics. Such things as length of service, skill competency levels, lay or technical background knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes are identified, targeted and addressed within the training program design. The first part of the plan is a mandatory requirement for each employee to attend a one-day motivational seminar. The objective is to boost morale and energize staff members who may have depressed or negative attitudes. A competent training director will be in place to facilitate skills training to cover the newly added services such as phone insurance and roadside services. Other training methods that would convey to multiple audiences include

- Classroom lectures

- E-learning via the company’s intranet

- Videos illustrating leading edge changes in the communication industry

-On the job hands-on training

This proposed training program focuses on customer service excellence, problem solving, job knowledge, developing advance skills levels, teamwork, employee and customer diversity, and collaboration techniques.
