The topic of our report will be diverse responses to sexual harassment, from a cross-cultural perspective. While most countries have stipulated sexual harassment laws, each has a different way of interpreting the concepts and situations that surround these issues. Numerous research papers have reflected on the legal, psychological and HR aspects of this problem, but very few have discussed it from a multi or cross-cultural perspective, where the context is influenced by culturally constructed values and beliefs that determine our conduct and the boundaries we set in terms of what is acceptable or appropriate behaviors.

The outline of the report will be:

* How sexual harassment becomes an issue in different countries

* Appropriate and inappropriate behavior and communication, both verbal and nonverbal, in different cultures

* Interpreting different values and concepts according to their cultural context

* Managing cultural differences in the workplace, focusing on gender issues.

* Recommendations

We will focus on one industry that has a high rate of offshore outsourcing and cross-cultural diversity in the workplace. The report will not be going into legal aspects, but will be focused on discussing the cultural responses to sexual harassment, analysing and addressing the issues from three different perspectives: 1, Cultural background of both local and host countries; 2, Power distance and hierarchy; 3, Sexual harassment laws and enforcement. The report will provide examples and evidence in detail to show how sexual harassment can cause major challenges in management, particularly in outsourcing.
