Jesus and Mohammed

Take some time and think about how many different religions there are that many people follow. There are questions that come to mind such as how this religion formed or got started? Why are the rules for different religions so important to follow? However, even though there are so many different religions many of the religions have several things in common. There is a founder or teacher of said religions who practices and shares the religions common goal with others. Two of the major religions that have had followers for thousands of years Christianity and the Muslim religion within these two practices one could find that Christianity and Muslim’s share similar practices and other practices that are very different.

What Christians believe about Jesus’ life and teaching is based largely on Biblical texts, particularly the first four books of the New Testament, which are called the gospels (Fisher 2005). The life of Jesus is celebrated daily by His faithful followers by going to church and continuing to practice His words in their home and daily life. Jesus was born a Jew, thousands of years ago, his teachings are what Christians today use and follow (Fisher 2005). Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary conceived through the Holy Spirit, Mary’s husband Joseph was a carpenter from Bethlehem. Mary and Joseph made the journey they had the baby in a stable and His name was Jesus. Angels informed shepherds that a savior has been born for the people. Shepherds from the East brought gifts to the infant. At the age of twelve Jesus mad another journey for their yearly trip with his parents for Passover. Jesus had gotten left behind by mistake and discovered later by his parents in the Temple “discussing the Torah with the rabbis”.
