Improvements for Dillard’s Mangerial Team
Providing the best leadership and management is apart of the success of any
company whether it is a Fortune 500 company or a community store. With the right negotiation strategies and the correct managerial techniques conflicts can be correctly assessed and solved in a timely manner. I currently work in a school teaching third and fourth grade. Prior to working in the school I worked at a very prominent department store named Dillards. Dullards is a high end department store located in various Southern states. Dillards is a high end department store that contains apparel for men, women, and kids. Some of their clothing lines include big names such as Calvin Klein, Perry Ellis, Ralph Lauren, Antonio Melani, Guess, Jessica Simpson, and Gianni Binni. Dillards has been in business for over thirty years ,but over the past couple of years Dillard’s annual sales have dropped drastically. Many companies in the retail business have experienced hardships due to the economy. In order to address some of the companies downfalls I will first address the possible negotiation strategies that can be used to address potential conflicts.
At Dillard’s the employee’s pay is based on their SPH. SPH is an employees sales per hour. Many employees run after customers in order to get their sales and to improve their SPH. Those employee that do not improve their SPH get a ten to fifteen percent decrease in their pay. The emphasis that is put to on making sales causes various conflicts between employees. Negotiation strategies can be applied in order to help eliminate the conflicts between employees.
